1. Our commitment
Mashro Alomr is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive digital experience for all users, regardless of their abilities or the technology they use. We continuously improve the platform's accessibility and treat it as a core part of our quality standards rather than an afterthought.
2. Conformance level
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), aligned with the digital-content accessibility requirements of the National Center for E-Learning (NeLC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the digital-accessibility direction of Vision 2030.
We also track the newer criteria in version 2.2 and adopt them progressively (such as touch target size and focus not being obscured).
3. Measures we take
Among the practices we have implemented to achieve accessibility:
- Sound semantic structure: proper HTML elements (hierarchical headings, page landmarks, lists) to ease navigation with screen readers.
- Sufficient color contrast: all primary text meets the WCAG AA minimum contrast (4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text) in both light and dark modes.
- Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements can be reached and operated by keyboard, with a clear, visible focus indicator.
- Skip link: a "Skip to content" link at the top of every page for quick access to the main content.
- Arabic & RTL support: correct right-to-left direction and full compatibility with Arabic screen readers.
- Respecting motion preferences: animations and transitions are reduced or disabled for users who enable "reduce motion" in their system.
- Alternative text: meaningful alt text for all informative images.
- Form labels: every input is associated with a clear label and understandable error messages.
- Responsive design: correct rendering across devices, screen sizes, and zoom levels up to 200%.
4. Assistive technology compatibility
The platform is designed to work with the latest browsers and common assistive technologies, including:
- Screen readers: VoiceOver (Apple), NVDA, and TalkBack (Android).
- Zoom and font-size adjustment at the browser and system level.
- Latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox.
5. Helpers & shortcuts
- Light/dark mode toggle: to reduce eye strain while maintaining the required contrast in both modes.
- Tab navigation: move between links, buttons, and form fields in a logical order.
- Browser zoom (Ctrl/⌘ with + or −): the layout remains intact without loss of content.
6. Known limitations
Despite our ongoing efforts, you may encounter some limitations in limited areas:
- Some controls of the embedded third-party video player may not be fully compatible with every screen reader; we are working on alternatives and improvements.
- Some externally produced documents or attachments may not be fully accessible; please contact us for an alternative version when needed.
We address these limitations as part of a continuous improvement plan and welcome any feedback that helps us resolve them faster.
7. Assessment approach
We assess accessibility through a combination of automated tools (such as axe-core), manual review, and testing with assistive technologies. We also plan to conduct periodic independent audits by a specialized party to certify conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
8. Reporting a problem
If you experience any difficulty accessing any part of the platform, or need content in an alternative format, we welcome your contact and commit to responding promptly:
- Email: info@mashroalomr.com
- General support: Contact page
Including details of the problem (page, device, browser, and the assistive technology used) helps us resolve it faster.
